I’ll write more later on a great weekend at the LA Times Book Festival on the USC campus.

But for now, thanks to the Michigan State fans who stopped by, the college football fans in general and even the USC fans who were interested, even though I gave them a full disclosure explaining that the 1970 USC-Alabama game’s impact on college football integration is a fairytale.

Also, thanks to College Football Hall of Famer Clinton Jones for signing books. Some browsers reached for their wallet once they realized they could get Clint to sign their book.

Michigan State is a singular story under the leadership of Duffy Daugherty. The stories are told in my two books:

RAYE OF LIGHT, Jimmy Raye, Duffy Daugherty, the Integration of College Football and the 1965-66 Michigan State Spartans. Foreword by Tony Dungy.

THE RIGHT THING TO DO, The True Pioneers of College Football Integration in the 1960s. Foreword by Ruffin McNeill.

The LA Times Book Festival also was a chance for me to gather with Michigan State graduates Phil and Tnaya Hart, the Executive Producers of our GAME CHANGERS OF THE CENTURY documentary in development.

Here is a three-minute Sizzle Real teaser on the documentary:

My books tell the true story of college football integration in the 1960s and address the myths and fiction that allowed a false narrative surrounding the 1970 USC-Alabama game to usurp the credit from the true pioneers. As I said when I spoke at the National Sports Media Association book festival, no two books provide an accurate portrayal more than RAYE OF LIGHT and THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

I’ll put my facts up against anybody, anytime, anywhere. Watch here.
