I discussed “Raye of Light” and Michigan State’s leading role in college football integration. Note my comment it is a disgrace the producers and editors at The NFL Network and the Big Ten Network have failed to produce a documentary on the careers of Jimmy Raye and Sherman Lewis. They both broke ground as players aboard Michigan State coach Duffy Daugherty’s Underground Railroad teams of the 1960s and then as assistant coaches in college, hired by Daugherty, and later in the NFL, including as offensive coordinators.

With the Cincinnati Bengals back in the Super Bowl, we also discussed The Freezer Bowl. I shivered through watching the Bengals defeat the San Diego Chargers on Jan. 10, 1982, in the 1981 season AFC Championship game. As I say, with minus-9 and 59-below wind chill, the game should not have been played that day.
